Welcome to the Highland Lakes Middle School Art Page!
School is out for Summer 2024! We'll be back to making art in August!
I can't wait to meet you at Meet the Teacher Night on July 30 (7th graders, I'll see you at 4:30, and 8th graders, I'll see you at 5:00!) and start making art with you on our first day of school on Thursday, August 1!

Want to get prepared for the year already?
Consider getting your supplies for the year together:
- A simple spiral bound sketchbook (bound white paper, no lined please)
- Some sketching pencils
- A handheld sharpener
- A handheld eraser
- A white gel pen (for highlights)
- An Ultrafine permanent marker (Sharpie) for outlining

Must Haves for Middle School Art
These items will be essential in completing daily work in class:
- Spiral-bound sketchbook (white paper, no lined please), letter-sized is best, but 9"x12" works and no smaller than 6"x 9"
- Handheld sharpener
- Handheld eraser

Might Wants for Middle School Art
- A sketching pencil set
- A white gel pen (for highlights)
- An Ultrafine permanent marker (Sharpie) for outlining
- A 16-color watercolor tray
- A keychain sized hand sanitizer
- A drawing-pen set similar to Pigma Microns (just a few different thickness pens would be more than enough)
- Oversized T-Shirt to protect clothing on messy days
