Hello and welcome to gifted education!

My name is Shonalee Beutler. I am the Gifted Enrichment Specialist K-2 at New River on Wednesdays. I am excited to work with the students in engaging and creative ways! 

I graduated from BYU (Brigham Young University) with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. I taught Kindergarten for five years in Utah. I moved to Arizona 13 years ago and taught preschool in my home for 7 years. The past 4 years I have been a substitute teacher for Deer Valley Unified School District. I have a passion for learning and a love for teaching. I am happy when I am in the classroom working with students.

I have been married to the love of my life, Ben, for 19 years. We have four wonderful children. Ashley (16) is a junior and Samantha (15) is a sophomore at Sandra Day O’Connor High School. Lucy (11) is in fifth grade and Charles (9) is in fourth grade at Inspiration Mountain.

I love to water ski, run, hike, sing, cook, and draw. Two of my favorite places to vacation are Disneyland and Lake Powell. My favorite color is purple. I love to eat peaches, caramel, and ice cream. I enjoy spending time with family!

My goal is to support your child in any way possible as they continue their educational journey. I will encourage each child to achieve his or her highest potential by using project-based learning, cooperative learning strategies, differentiated instruction, hands-on activities, and technology. I will lay a strong foundation for a life-long love of learning. Let's have a wonderful year of inquiring, exploring, and growing!
