  • Dear Families,

I hope you have had a nice extended Spring Break.  During 3rd Quarter, the 5th/6th grade General Music Classes covered a World Music/Rhythm Unit.  Students were engaged in  a variety of Percussion Ensemble Playing.  Students previewed Cultural Music From a variety of regions on the African Continent.  Our Kinders and 1st grade students, took a look at How Music Helps to tell Story.  Through a variety of stories, we learned about Jazz Music, Note Reading and performing on small xylophones utilizing Mallet Technique.  Of Course we have always found the time to insert the fun movement with music activities into our class.  Our 2nd and 3rd Grade students began reading notation during 2nd quarter, and could not wait until we could start the Karate Recorder Program.  They practiced diligently to earn those Karate Belts. A few of our students earned their Black Belts and many of our students were very close.  What a great year it has been so far.

Our choir and strings performance classes have had an amazing year.  They performed very well at their Winter Concert in December.  We did not anticipate our school closures.  The Good news is we will continue our learning from Home.  We will begin the week of April 6th.  I miss all of my students and I am looking forward to our new musical adventures.

Stay Well and Safe, keep learning and practicing.
