• I want you to know that I miss being in the classroom with all of you. I never expected that we would not be together again in the classroom.  A situation like this has not happened in over 100 years.  Just think, we are all making history right now!  This will be talked and written about for years to come.

Through unexpected struggles comes new opportunities.  Even though we will not be in the classroom, we will still be able to learn and grow through Home Learning for the remainder of the school year.  It will be met with challenges for students, parents, guardians, and teachers.  It is important to remember that we are all learning together and it is okay if mistakes are made and there is confusion.  Together we will work this out.  One way to continue to connect with each other is via email.  I want to encourage everyone to email me at donna.newport@dvusd.org with your questions or concerns.

These are the tools we will be using to access Home Learning: Ms. Newport’s teacher website, google classrooms, and ZOOM.

    Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a free digital platform tool for teachers and students.  It enables teachers to create and manage an online classroom.  Google Classroom makes it possible for teachers to create assignments and distribute them to their students. Within the Google Classroom students can complete and turn in assignments which allows them to have conversations about their assignment with the teacher.  Teachers can monitor the students' work and progress.
