Welcome to PE and Fitness & Conditioning!
This year in PE class you will have the opportunity to participate in many different sports and activities, get to know yourself and classmates, learn how to be a team player, develop leadership skills and explore many health topics, all while having fun! Uniforms are mandatory for PE class only at Gavilan Peak this year. The GP uniforms consist of a Gavilan Peak Physical Education cotton t-shirt, and dry-fit shorts. If there is a financial hardship please contact me. Gym shoes are also required. No slides, crocs, or sandles are allowed. If a student is not wearing closed-toed gymshoes or the PE uniform, he/she will not be allowed to participate that day, which will effect their grade. Participation is mandatory for this class.
Those students who are in Fitness and Conditioning will aim to improve their Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance and Flexibility/Mobility. The students will develop knowledge of and competency of variety of fitness activities. Participation is mandatory for this class. This class will consist of learning the five components of fitness, nutrition, and living a healthy life style. My goal is to have students learn to make healthy life long fitness choices that will be incorporated into their daily lives. **Gavilan Peak uniforms are not required for this class, however, gym shoes are mandatory to participate in the physical activities. If a student does not have the correct foot wear, they will not earn the points for the day.
