Mr. Steve McAllister

 
 "Mr. Mac's" musical study began at age three on an alto trombone. Training came from Bob McAllister - the original "Mr. Mac", his father, and veteran trombonist in the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. Both parents taught music and were named "Arizona Teacher of the Year" during their careers.
Mr. McAllister has taught kinder through university level music education courses throughout his career. He has teaching experience in Scottsdale Unified School District, Mesa Public Schools, Deer Valley Unified School District, Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and Mesa Community College. Mr. McAllister was featured on "Mesa Public Schools Education Television's - Great Performances by Master Teachers".
As a professional trombonist, Mr. McAllister has performed music throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, and South America. Mr. McAllister is in demand as a professional trombonist and performs with groups ranging from the "Temptations" to the legendary jazz band - the "Harry James Orchestra" - and has backed up artists including Reba McEntire, Jackie Evancho, Michael Buble, Lindsey Stirling, and Clay Aiken - to name only a few.
Mr. McAllister was invited to join the music faculty at Arizona State University in 2012 and teaches evening music classes at the main campus.
