    The International Baccalaureate Organization

    IBO is a non-profit educational foundation based in Switzerland, that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program for students in the final years of high school. The IBO provides curriculum and assessment development, teacher training and information seminars, electronic, and other services to over 5000 participating schools in more than 140 countries. There are currently 33 IB schools in Arizona offering 40 programs from Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma. Barry Goldwater High School received its IB charter in 1999. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is an honors program with a comprehensive and rigorous liberal arts curriculum, leading to examinations in the junior and senior years. It is designed for the academically talented student willing to work hard in a very structured setting.  Join our program in 2023-2024 as BGHS celebrates 23 successful years offering the IB Diploma Program to our community.

    The Barry Goldwater High School International Baccalaureate (IB) Program is accepting students from the Deer Valley School District and from other districts. Our enrollment is not capped and all students who qualify for the program will be accepted. We are excited to accept students who apply to MYP/IB in 8th, 9th or 10th grades.  Students in 11th and 12th grade will be IB DP Candidates and may need to have fulfilled Pre-IB DP requirements to be considered.
