Orchestra students will have the opportunity to learn bowed stringed instruments - violin, viola, cello and bass. Students start the program as beginners. With practice and patience, Orchestra students become advanced musicians, capable of creating beautiful music and enhancing life around them. - 7th/8th Orchestra: Day B, 9:00-11:00
General Music students will have weekly classes during which they will focus on the many aspects that create the music we hear around us in our daily lives. This will include: steady beat, rhythm, melody, harmony, note reading, and much more! 3rd graders will participate in an introduction to violin in the fall semester and recorders in the spring semester. The first day of school for the 2020-2021 school year will be August 3rd (virtually). A virtual Meet the Teacher Night will be Thursday, July 30th. Teacher videos will be available on the school website starting at 5:00 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. the school administration will host a Facebook Live feed on the Highland Lakes School Facebook page. This will be a short message to welcome everybody to the new school year. We hope you will tune it!
