My name is Michaela Furer and I am new to the Sierra Verde and Deer Valley Unified School District family. In the Spring of 2010 I graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz, receiving my Bachelor's of Science in Visual Arts Education. Soon after graduation I began my journey to Arizona, where I have since resided. I have since obtained my Masters of Arts in Special Education through the University of Phoenix. For the 2010-2011 school year, I was employed as an instructional assistant for students with disabilities at Willow Canyon high school, in the Dysart Unified School District. I maintained the role of case manager and special education teacher under the title of Interventionist of Special Education at Sonoran Sky Elementary School, in the Pendergast Elementary School District, for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years. I enjoy spending free time with family and friends, and watching my nephew approach the terrible two's. When enjoying my alone time, I can be found lounging by the pool, procrastinating on completing a painting, or browsing Amazon.com.
