Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
I hope everyone is having a good Spring Break. I know with the unsettling events that are taking place, we are all having to change our plans. In order to help students practice and maintain what they've already learned, I wanted to remind you of resources that are available from home. For Math, Dreambox is still available to all the students. You will need to do a search for dvusd start page. Click on dvusd start page. A page should come up that is familiar to all of the students. Click on dvusd portal and find the Dreambox icon. Dreambox is a self-guided math program in which the students are to work on independently.
MyOn is another resource available to all the students. MyOn is an online reading program with unlimited literature. They can access the online program at www.myOn.com. If your child has forgotten their password, please email me. All of the students have worked on both programs on a regular basis in class. Other fun websites are www.sheppardsoftware.com (I like the math, but it also has other subjects) and www.code.org. Code.org teaches students the basics of computer coding.
Attention: The district has started sending out emails regarding the school closure. If you are having trouble receiving these, please contact the district office. Starting today, the district will be providing additional learning opportunities for all of the students. Please take advantage of them.
Have a great weekend. I hope to see everyone soon even if its virtually. Stay safe and stay healthy.
If you have questions or comments, please feel free to email me.
