HappyNew Year! Welcome back. Flue season is in swing. If your child is running a fever or exhibiting flue like symptoms, please keep your child home from school. We will be working hard at staying healthy in the classroom. Frequent hand washing and covering mouths when we cough is strongly encouraged.
Please sign your child's report card envelop and return it to school. Please keep the report card.
Please notify me if you are not receiving the Friday Folders and papers. It is really important that these things make it home to you.
The students have begun receiving Reading Logs as homework. The students are to read a minimum of 15 minutes a day and write a brief summary about what they read. Please sign or initial their log everyday. The students may use myOn.com on their reading log. If they take a quiz, they do not need to write a summary. I am able to view their quizes. Reading Logs are assigned on Mondays and need to be returned on Fridays unless it is a short week. Then, they may turn it in on the following Monday.
We will be working on planning one field trips for this year. The district is mandating that any parents that wish to be chaperons must be volunteer trained.
EQ motto of the week: The cure for boredom is curiosity.
The students will be having a snack and recess time everyday. You may send in a snack for your your child. Think healthy snacks such as fruit, vegetables, cheese and cracker, etc. Our classroom is a peanut and tree nut free zone. Please do not send anything containing peanut or tree nut products for snack.
