• Ms. Poll's misses you all!

Governor Doug Ducey has issued an executive order urging Arizonans to stay home. The order takes effect at 5pm, on March 31, 2020. DVUSD will communicate with families as to how this new order may impact school operations over the next few weeks; however, Home Learning will continue for the remainder of the school year. Staff is ready to support our students and families.

    Home Learning
DVUSD is committed to providing home learning to your child. For the week of March 30-April 3, we invite families to enrich their child's learning at home. You can see these enrichment opportunities at Home Learning Link.
Beginning April 6, teacher-directed online instruction, as well as home packets, will begin. Teacher-directed instruction will continue for the remainder of this school year.  Look for a link on my website labeled Home Learning.  We will have two Zoom meeting times daily as well for you to connect.

Ms. Poll

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. I have been teaching first grade at Las Brisas since 2002. Some of you know me by my married name, "Mrs. Brooksher", however I have since divorced.  I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri and my Master's degree from NAU.
Before joining the staff here, I taught first grade for two years in the Cartwright School District and taught kindergarten and third grade for 4 years in Bakersfield, California. I love teaching and thoroughly enjoy this grade level.  While I do not have any children, per se, I do have a Havanese named Phoebe that I pretty much treat as my daughter!
I will encourage your child to challenge what they know and to wonder about what they do not. We will build upon the six pillars of character to become responsible, caring and trustworthy young citizens. I strive to build a family atmosphere within my classroom and it is my goal to have each child leave first grade an independent learner that loves learning!
