Mrs. Sandy Van Zwol-Anderson

Welcome back to Canyon Springs!  My name is Sandy Van Zwol-Anderson, or Mrs. VZA.  I am starting my 40th year of teaching in Arizona.  After teaching 30 years in the Cartwright Elementary Dstrict, mostly 6th, 7th, and 8th grade gen ed classes, I came to Deer Valley to work with kids in special education.  I love my job and enjoy working with your kids.  My husband, Ransom, is a retired shop teacher.  I have 3 boys, ages 26, 26, and 28, all in various stages of college and working.  In my spare time I enjoy reading magazines and watching movies.  I am certified in grades K-8 for general education, grades K-12 for special education and am highly qualified in both areas. I am also highly qualified in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA and Math.  Please contact me with any concerns or information at sandra.vanzwol-anderson@dvusd.org.  Let's have a great year.
I work primarily with 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades.  I team-teach 6th grade language arts with Mrs. Warner and 6th grade math with Mrs. Devriendt.  As a special education teacher, there are many students that visit my classroom to receive individualized instruction based on their Individual Education Plan.
