Degrees and Certifications:
Dear Viking Parents/Guardians,
As we close out the first quarter of the 2018-19 school year, I have some wonderful news to share with you. Based on our 2017-18 AzMERIT scores and student academic growth, the Arizona Department of Education has once again labeled Village Meadows an A school! This label reflects the hard work and dedication that our staff, from teachers to custodians, put into educating our students, keeping them safe, providing them nourishing lunches as well as a clean and healthy environment. However, let’s not forget the role that you as parents/guardians play. Without your support we could not have accomplished the success that we have, and for that I thank you! It truly takes a Village, and together we have done it again! I look forward to your continued support of our staff as well as your input on how we might make any necessary modifications to our current practices.
In an effort to ensure that we are able to replicate the tremendous academic growth that our students made last year we will continue to implement weekly homework packets that focus on reading fluency and math. Packets will be sent home on Mondays and are due back to school on Friday. Please note that these packets are merely a portion of the homework that a homeroom teacher might require, please be sure to get clarification from your child’s teachers as to the specifics of their homework requirements.
As we head into cooler weather, please be sure that students are not sent to school with fevers. On the other hand, we ask that you monitor your child’s absences and tardies. A day of school is a day of learning.
Again, thank you for your continued support. I look forward to a great second quarter!
