Fourth Grade Teacher
Greenbrier Elementary School
My name is Frances Beermann. This is my 14th year teaching at Greenbrier. Before coming to Greenbrier, I had taken some time away from teaching to be with my children while we moved from Kansas City, MO, to Ponca City, OK and finally to Glendale, AZ.
My family and I love Arizona, we have never lived in such a breath taking state. We love it all...the mountains, the desert sunsets, the numerous canyons and yes, even the heat. I enjoy hiking at Thunderbird Park and camping at Sunset Crater outside of Flagstaff. My current form of self care has been riding my bike in the wash area near our home.
We are offically a house divided. Our son is studying Applied Computing at ASU and our daughter is in the Neuroscience program at U of A.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education/Social Studies from the University of Wyoming and my Master's degree in Special Education and Elementary Education endorsement from the Arizona State University. Before teaching I worked with adults with disabilities in the residential setting in Laramie Wyoming.
This will be my fifth year working as a 4th grade classroom teacher. I have been working with 4th, 5th and 6th grade since joining Greenbrier Elementary, as a Special Education Teacher. These are unpresidented times and educating our students is essential. I have always felt that my classroom was a 'family' and I care for my family. I know we are still aclimating to "normal" and our environment is still influx with the student's safety, well being and education the priority. I am l excited for the start of school, just like I am every year and I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.
If you have any questions for me please feel free to call or email. I will be happy to meet with you and answer any questions I can.
