Mrs. Carolyn Tindall-Chenault

I have been an education professional for over 30 years, 15 of them in the area of low vision as an Itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired.  I received both my Bachelor and Master degrees from Arizona State University in Elementary Education with an additional certification as a Reading Specialist.  In 2004 I received a certification through the University of Arizona in the area of Special Education in Visual Impairment.  In addition, I have had the exciting opportunity to teach in Japan, Hawaii and Europe.  My teaching experiences have been in preschool through University level (for the University of Phoenix).

I was nominated twice for the Silver Apple award.  Although I didn't receive the coveted apple, I was honored to be nominated.  I was also nominated by a former student for entry into the Who's Who of American Educators.  My professional organizations are with AER (The Association for Educators of Rehabilitative Services of the Blind and Visually Impaired.  This is an International Organization which sets the standard for Low Vision Professionals) and the Association for Itinerant Teachers of the Visually Impaired as well as AEA/NEA.
