    Mission Statement

The 2nd Grade Team will be expected to help others succeed, see the problem, fix the problem, communicate you matter so that we can accomplish all our goals in 2nd grade.

    Loading/Unloading Procedures

Students should use the green curb to load and unload for both drop off in the morning and pick up at dismissal. The green loading/unloading zone  is located after the crosswalk in front of the basketball courts.

Students will no longer be able to enter or exit vehicles on the blue curb. The blue curb will be considered our "Pull Forward" zone.  The goal will be to keep traffic moving forward to the green loading/unloading zone.

    Math Goal

By the end of the year, 100% of the students will meet or exceed the standards on the Deer Valley Math Assessment (DVMA) .

Your first assignment is to read the 2nd Grade Handbook. After you have read it, copy the last page, sign it and send it back to school with your child.

    Top 20 at Legend Springs!
Top 20 works to use teachable moments to instruct kids as they develop strong emotional intelligence. Top 20 encourages students to be more than book smart, it helps students make smart personal decisions and teaches students how to interact with others in a positive and supportive way. We call this helping students stay "Above the Line."

Top 20 puts a focus on developing good habits in (TLC) Thinking, Learning and Communicating! Our students will learn strategies for staying "Above the Line" so they can reach their maximum potential in all areas of their life.  Students will learn what it means to Keep Their Day so they are able to navigate through life in a productive manner when conflict and misunderstanding occur. Students will also learn about the four main jobs to create and sustain a healthy school culture; We Help Each Other Succeed, We Communicate You Matter, We Honor the Absent and We See the Problem, We Fix the Problem.
Parents, if you would like to review the Top 20 concepts that we will be reviewing with students during the first semester click here.   Top Twenty      Be Kind

SPOT ON Character incentive program for all Legend Springs students!
Your child may have already told you about our Character incentive program called SPOT ON!  We are excited to catch students and staff members who are SPOT ON with good character!  Legend Springs staff will be looking for students to shine in these 7 areas: Safe, Punctual, Optimistic, Team Players, Open-Minded and Noble.

Students will be awarded a SPOT ON character ticket from a Legend Springs staff member if they demonstrate good character and go "above and beyond" in one of these five areas. Each student who receives a SPOT ON ticket will be entered into our weekly character drawing.  One child at every grade level will be chosen as our SPOT ON student for the week.  Their name will be read on Friday through morning announcements or during Flagpole Fridays. Character prizes will be awarded to our weekly student character winners and our monthly character winners will enjoy lunch with our Principal!

For more information or if you would like to recognize a staff member at Legend Springs for being SPOT on, you can click on this link.   Spot On

    PTA

Please join the PTA if you haven't already done so.  The PTA's membership is a major part of their fundraising for the year.  The PTA is doing a wonderful job of purchasing technology and other supplies for the classrooms at Legend Springs. Please consider serving on one of the many committees as another way to support this vital organization on our campus. We love our PTA!!!!
