Skill: Realism and Fantasy
What is this skill? Understanding realism and fantasy helps a reader determine if what they are reading is real or make-believe. A realistic story tells about something that could happen in real life. A fantasy is make-believe.
Why is this important? Good readers look for clues that tell them whether a story could really happen or if it is make-believe. It helps readers understand the story or text better.
