Intro to Art is the first year, two semester  prerequisite for all other visual art classes. Intro covers how and why art is created, how we relate to art and how we evaluate visual art.  It is a studio art class.

 

 

Drawing 1-2 is a full year begining drawing class. Drawing 3-4 is an itermediate drawing class.  Students do not need experience beyond Intro to Art to register.  This class teaches the importance of visual observation when learned to draw realistically.  Technical skills such as perspective, shading  and drawing proportion are the core of learning to draw. 

 

Painting 1-2 is a two semester introduction to the techniques and concepts of watercolor and acrylic painting. Introduction to Art is needed as a prerequisite. Painting 3-4 is the second year extention of this class.

 

2D Design DIgital Photography is a two semester class where students use their own camera or their phone or I Pad camera to learn about good photography practices.  Learning to 'see' as well as the many creative and technical skills are introduced to students.  

 

2D Portfolio Preperation and Advanced Placement Studio Art are

3rd or 4th year indepenedent study courses that prepare advanced students, who are interested in going on in art related collaeg courses.

AP Studio art gives the student an opportunity to produce art for the AP exam for college cresit in art.

Introduction to Art class may be opted out as a prerequistite in some

cases. Please make a portfolio evaluation appointment with Ms. K to possibly opt out of Intro class and go directly to Drawing 1-2 or 2D Design Photography

 

7:00am -  7:25am daily

2:15pm -  3:00pm by appointment
