I was born in Buffalo, NY, but left there as a baby when my family moved to Michigan. We later moved to Kansas and then onto Florida and Illinois. I came to Arizona to go to college and never left. I enjoy the outdoors and was an avid hiker and horse person for many years.
I went to U of A for a couple of years and then transferred to ASU when I moved to Phoenix. I finished my BA, MA and PHD at ASU.
After the birth of my daughter, I finished ASU. My teaching career started in Avondale as a speech teacher and English teacher. After the birth of my son, I started teaching in the Glendale Union High School District and spent many years there. I taught all levels of high school English, theater, speech, and special education. On the side, I practiced at St. Joseph's hospital in the pain clinic and did family counseling. I also was the educational director for a health and wellness retreat center in Payson, Arizona. After GUSD, I continued my education in alternative practices such as hypnotherapy as I am a certified hypnotherapist and certified hypnobirthing therapist.
I have taught for high schools around the valley, in the prison systems, state and federal, for Rio Salado, at Luke AFB and overseas for a college in Kenya.
I bring to the school psychologist position a myriad of expertise in clinical, classroom and real life experiences. I believe that "it takes a village" to raise, educate and prepare young people for a successful future.
