I hope you are all staying as healthy and happy as possible during this very difficult time!  Please know that I am thinking about you and I dearly miss seeing our students' faces every day!  I am available to parents and students remotely throughout our school closure Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. via email, telephone, and Zoom video conference (by appointment).
Parents, if your student would like to "check-in" with me for emotional support, to chat/say "hi", or just see a familiar face from school, I am here for them and would love to connect with them via Zoom!  Contact me via email at kristen.sollom@dvusd.org (best way to reach me) or phone (I will be checking messages throughout the day) at
(623)445-4310 and we can set up a time to chat/meet virtually.
I am also available to answer your health-related questions/concerns and provide resources and tips to keep you and your student safe and healthy as we navigate online schooling through the end of the year.
Stay well and I look forward to seeing you all again in the coming months!
    Fondly, Nurse Kristen
The health center is located in the administration building just behind the front office. The health office is open daily between 8:30 am and 3:45 pm. Please make sure that your contact numbers are kept current so that we can always reach you in case of an emergency. It is also helpful for you to keep me in your contact numbers so you know when the school nurse is calling an d to make sure your mailbox is not full.
The health center provides vision and hearing screenings, provides first aid, breathing treatments and dispenses daily medications.
The nurse cannot dispense any medications that have not been provided and signed for by a parent or guardian. All medications must be in their original packaging and if it is a prescription medication, it must be labeled with the correct dose and times. A child can never bring medication to school or carry it on their person with the exception of inhaler or epi-pens (parents will be required to sign a form to allow students to self carry). Medication forms can be picked up from the school nurse.
Please attempt to deliver your childs medication and complete the necessary forms during health office hours 8:30am-3:45pm, please do not leave medication at the front office.
If your are dropping off or picking up your child during school hours please use the entrance on 45th avenue and enter through the office.  The person picking up your child must be listed on the pink emergency sheet and will be required to show identification when they sign them out through office.
