There will be no general “call to the public” Agenda item at this meeting. Reference: Attorney Generals’ Opinion dated March 13, 2020 Re: Concerns Related to Arizona’s Open Meeting Law and COVID-19.
The Board reserves the right to change the order of items on the Agenda, with the exception of Public Hearings. The Board may take action in open meeting on any item that was the subject of the Executive Session held at this Board Meeting. The Board may vote to convene an Executive Session pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.03(A)(3) for discussion or consultation for legal advice with the Governing Board’s attorney on any items listed on the Agenda. One or more Governing Board members and/or the Governing Board’s attorney may participate by telephonic, video or internet conferencing.

Deer Valley Unified School District is governed by a five-member board of trustees elected by popular vote to alternating four-year termsThe governing board consists of a president, a vice-president and three members.The president and vice-president are elected in January by fellow members and serve in that capacity one year. Board members must reside in the Deer Valley District.
Operating within the laws of the state legislature, and the rules and regulations of the state Board of Education, the board sets policy for the management of the district.
The superintendent and district staff are responsible for the execution of these policies.
