  • DVUSD Building a New School - Sonoran Foothills School

    Deer Valley Unified School District is building a new school to open in August, 2015. It will be located on the east side of the I-17 freeway in the Sonoran Foothills area. The address is 32150 N. North Foothills Drive (map) in Phoenix with main cross streets of Bronco Butte Trail and North Foothills Drive. It is just a bit south of Dove Valley Road and east of North Valley Parkway.

    • Elementary #30 in the Sonoran Foothills Community
    • Scheduled to open August 2015
    • 78,900 square feet
    • 45 classrooms (plus a Computer Lab & Media Center)
    • Total investment $15,750,000 ($14,750,000 in construction costs) from 2008 bond authorization
    • First school built in DVUSD since 2007
     

    The Governing Board approved the name of Elementary 30 at the March 10, 2015 meeting.  The school name is Sonoran Foothills School, the mascot is the bobcat and the colors are Cobalt Blue/Silver/Black. It will be a pre-K-8 school, but as in the past, the district will open the first year as a pre-K-7. The current seventh graders can stay at their own school for their eighth grade year.
