FIND it Fast

Dear Mountain Shadows Parents/Guardians,

It’s hard to believe that we are closing another school year.  Our students worked very hard this year and learned so much.  We proud of their accomplishments and unmeasurable achievements.  This year, our school-wide Wildly Important Goal (W.I.G.) was to increase parent engagement.  Through our Student Passports, 24 students earned the Homework/Front of the Lunch Line Pass, 22 students received a fresh baked cookie at lunch, 20 students received a water bottle, 14 students participated in Fun Friday, and 8 students received a free t-shirt for both the student and their parent.  Additionally, Angel in 3rd grade and Jeannie in 6th grade won the Family Night Evening Out drawings where PTSA provided a $50 gift card and treats.  Thank you to all students and parents who participated this year.  We appreciate your support and look forward to improving the participation next year.

I also want to say a very special thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers.  The time donated to support the Mountain Shadows campus is greatly appreciated.  This especially includes our awesome PTSA leaders.  This year, our membership went well over 100% and the PTSA will be receiving several awards at the annual conference.  I can’t say enough about the support and funding given to our students and campus improvement by our PTSA.  Congratulations to them for a job well-done!

Lastly, I must mention how wonderful and hard-working the staff is.  They worked in collaborative teams to creatively problem-solve, improve their practice, and build quality relationships.  I am appreciative of their individual contribution to student achievement.

As we say good-bye to the 2016-2017 school year, I want to thank you for allowing us the time to teach your child.  It is a joy to be entrusted with your children and watch them learn and grow.  We are so proud of them and look forward to seeing them again next year.  May you enjoy your time with your children over the summer.  Be safe and have fun!  We will see you at Open House on August 3, 2017.
Educationally yours,
Janet Gilbert
