First Grade Rocks!Welcome to room 405 graduating class of 2031!
Hello Parents and Students
Please join us for Meet The Teacher Night on Monday August 5th 5:00 - 6:30 pmFirst grade is here and we are going to have an exciting and fun year! We will be learning a lot, so make sure you are ready!
Things to know about First Grade:
Homework Packet –A homework packet will be sent home every Monday with a weekly newsletter attached letting you know about the concepts that we will be working on that week and any important dates or information that you should know about. Your child will need to complete the homework during the week and return the packet by Friday morning. In addition to the homework packet it is very important for your student’s success that they read for at least 20 minutes a day.
Volunteering at Esperanza – If you would like to participate in parties, field trips or just helping in the classroom or on campus, you must attend a volunteer training class. This is a one-time requirement, if you attended a training last year for kindergarten you do not need to attend again. Contact Karla Weinzheimer in the office for dates and times.
You can support your child and myself by:
Checking your child’s backpack daily
Attending conferences, field trips, and helping out in the classroom
Reading with your child for at least 20 minutes a day
Helping your child with their homework
Keeping me informed of any changes that are happening in your child’s life
Letting me know of any learning or behavior problems
I believe that for a student to succeed there must be a strong parent-teacher relationship. One of the key components for this to happen is communication. I encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns that you have. You can either send me a note or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to building a strong relationship with you and your child this year!
