I hope this finds you and your family well. Obviously, there are so many uncertain circumstances that we all must overcome. As I write this, the other sixth grade teachers and I are trying to determine the best path with consideration for everyone: the students, parents/guardians, and the teacher. We are exploring different ways to deliver content to your children that requires them to not only learn and use their skills, but holds them accountable too. One key point I want to personally emphasize is that I am not putting any additional work or strain on the parents/guardians. All work that I assign will be purposeful and intended for your child to attempt on their own. Within the next day or two, I will be sending students a link to our google classroom (through student email). I will also post the link on my class website. Most work and requirements will be managed through this outlet. Students will be encouraged to message me with any questions. Again, I want to put the responsibility on your kids to manage their academic obligations. I will be checking my email on a regular basis, so please do not hesitate to contact me, for any reason. I am also open to communicating over the phone.

Mr. Fizz's 2019/2020 Sixth Grade ClassWelcome! I look forward to great year guiding your students on the path towards personal and academic growth and success. There are many fascinating and challenging topics covered throughout the sixth grade curriculum. In science, students will explore the foundations and components of weather, examine plant and animal cells, study systems of the human body, and the diversity of life. In math, students will work with ratios, multiplying and dividing fractions, utilizing geometry and related formulas, and much more! In reading and writing, students will fine-tune their skills in comprehension, fluency, creative writing, and appropriate etiquette for communicating in today's complicated social media driven society. I will work tirelessly and diligently to ensure all of my students leave sixth grade better prepared for obstacles in middle school and life beyond! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email at Jarod.Fizz@dvusd.org.Daily Schedule:
