Ms. Kim

Hi. My name is Ms. Kim to kids and Kimberly Watson to the district. I've been the half time counselor at Park Meadows for 5 years and have a total of 30 years in school counseling and an additional 15 years as a teacher. I still love what I do!

Now, we are in uncharted waters. There are no experts in how to handle everything that we are currently facing. But, together we are stronger and can handle anything. None of us can go this alone and fortunately we don't have to. We are PARK STRONG and are here for each other.

We are all learning how to navigate staying at home, learning at home, being at home all together and well you get it, that's a lot of TOGETHER at home in confined quarters!  That is going to cause some stressful situations for everyone. Please reach out for support when you need it. Teachers will have office hours and you can talk to them if the on line work is a struggle.  We know the struggle is real!!

This is chance to just slow down, breath a bit and reflect on what is truly important...and I'm guessing they are all gathered around you right at this moment. This is not the time to be hard on yourself or others.  As I have been teaching in classrooms, kindness really matters, especially with our family, but that doesn't always shine through. Now more than ever is the time to be kind, to yourself, your family and your community.

There are many websites that help with anxiety, stress and mindfulness. Check some of those out and take a few minutes to practice for yourself or with your family. Try an exercise game or video, take up yoga, take a nature walk with the family and just listen to the sounds of nature.  And just know that I am only an email or a zoom meeting away and will help in any way I can.

I miss all my kids,

Ms. Kim
