• Advanced Sports Medicine: HES 275

Advanced Sports Medicine is for students who want to enrich their knowledge in the Sports Medicine fields. The prerequisite for the course is Introduction to Sports Medicine. It is a part of the CTE department (Career and Technical Education).
Advanced Sports Medicine can be more demanding then Intro to Sports Medicine. We will cover topics including basic anatomy, medical terminology, tissue healing, legal and ethical concerns, physical fitness assessment, nutrition, sports psychology, therapeutic modalities and therapy and exercise programs. Students will learn through a hands on approach in our new Sports Medicine facility.  College credit is also available through our Dual Enrollment program with Rio Salado College.  Students can earn 3 college credits for completion of this year long course HES 275.
After Advanced Sports medicine, students have several other course completion options. This includes the Peer/Facilitator Students aid program, The NASM personal training course, and/or the Senior CTE Internship.
