Mitchell Tsang was born and raised in Hong Kong. He moved to the U.S. in 2008. He speaks both Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese Chinese, as well as English. He received his Advanced Diploma in Music from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Before he moved to the U.S., he was a music teacher in Hong Kong. Tsang received his Bachelor of Music from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and his Master of Music from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

He received his Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. He is married to his wonderful wife, Gina, and they have three children together: Sebastian who is 10, Megan who is 8, and Amelia who is now 6.
