Biology 1 and 2
Welcome to Mountain Ridge High School Biology!
I am in my 36th year of teaching science and biology and am looking forward to my fourth year here at Mountain Ridge.
Biology studies life. It is not only a set of facts, but a process that gives us this knowledge and understanding. This year we will learn scientific processes also known as the scientific method(s), and we will survey other topics from the cellular level to ecology and the global level.
Students will have daily responsibilities in order to be successful. They will need to bring a notebook and something to write with as well as their fully charged school issued iPad. The most important things to bring to biology class every day is an eagerness to discover new things, a willingness to work cooperatively with the instructor and each other, and a positive attitude about all that may be unexpected!
An important expectation is that students study the material learned, each night! It is important that students review and refresh the information each day, even if it's only for 10-15 minutes.
This website will keep you updated on most things related to the course. The calendar will contain important dates and due dates as well as daily objectives for current outcomes. The students will need to check these in cases of absence to remain current.

One of the things NOT available on this site are grades. Both students and parents may access grades via Power Schools. (Parents will need to set up an account through the school to be able to access grades.)
Another way to stay in contact with Mr. Devlin's biology classes is through REMIND. Here is the link to Mr. Devlin's account: remind.com/join/devlinsb
