About Me

Welcome to Terramar! I will be serving as Guidance Counselor/504 coordinator for Terramar and Hillcrest Middle School this 2016-2017 school year. I am a recent "transplant" to DVUSD so to speak, as I have spent the past ten years teaching middle school and serving as Student Council Advisor in Peoria Unified School District (DV's friendly next door neighbor).

While I have a HUGE passion for teaching and come with a plethora of knowledge, skills, materials, yada yada from my experience in educating this wonderful age, I felt it was the natural next step in my career to become a school counselor...and it made total sense. Being that I was an educator who wore many hats, I was virtually providing counseling/guidance to my students on a daily basis. In 2015, I graduated with my M.A.ed in School Guidance Counseling and began the quest for my next "home." Leaving the only place I knew since the beginning of my teaching career proved to be bittersweet-incredibly difficult to leave my established position, reputation, classroom (a.k.a 'empire'), students, families,  the MANY wonderful moments, and memories; yet profoundly peaceful, bringing in feelings of accomplishment, focus, and excitement for the challenging role I would soon encompass. I will always hold my past near and dear, but anticipate an amazing future here in the Deer Valley School District.

With that being said, it is both my desire and pleasure to continue the fabulous work of Terramar's Counselors to serve this amazing school community!!
