Welcome to Room 309! We are about to begin an exciting year with many important topics for learning and discovery. In third grade, we make the big transition from learning to read, to reading to learn.
As we begin the new school year, your children will first learn how our classroom community functions and what their responsibilities will be. We quickly begin our academic journey by jumping right into multiplication concepts and reading comprehension skills. You can help your child to be successful in third grade by helping your child to find time to read for pleasure and by encouraging practice with multiplication strategies such as skip counting or drawing equal groups.
I am very excited to work with your children as they discover their own strengths and grow throughout third grade!
