Hello Students, Parents, and Faculty!

My name is Mr. Loper, and I am currently the 7th grade English Language Arts teacher at Desert Sky Middle School! 

I am originally from the state of Delaware, where I attended the University of Delaware, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education. The following school year, I began as a long-term substitute for several different grades of language arts. Afterwards, I taught one year of 8th grade language arts at a local middle school before deciding to move to Arizona after the end of the year. 

For the past few years, I have enjoyed coaching Track and Field as well as Cross Country (2021-22 Boys Conference Champions!) I also enjoy running the chess club at our school. 

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my three-year-old son Max, hiking, running, practicing Spanish, and skateboarding. 

The 2024-2025 school year will be my 8th year here at Desert Sky and I couldn't be more excited about beginning another great year! Go Bolts!
