Ms. Harper's 8th Grade Social Studies Class
The 8th grade Social Studies program focuses on the study of American History and government. Students will be able to identify the historical foundations and democratic principles that framed our Constitution and led to our form of government and conclude the course with the present day (contemporary) history.
The World Cultures curriculum will give students a global perspective as they understand and compare cultures around the world. The focus is contemporary with enough history to better understand the cultural significances. The students will examine cultural factors such as language, music, food, art, and current issues, as well as value systems, religion, and their relationship to history.
