    Michelle Coots, michelle.coots@dvusd.org began teaching for the Deer Valley Unified School District in 2006. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University and a Master of Education degree in Career and Technical Education from Northern Arizona University. Her certifications include Standard Secondary Education: 7-12 Business and Economics and Standard Career and Technical Education: Business and Marketing. Mrs. Coots serves the Deer Valley Online Learning Program as the instructor for Free Enterprise.  "The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born-that there is a genetic factor to leadership.     Bill Dugan  

    Bill Dugan, william.dugan@dvusd.org, earned his Postbac Certificate in Elementary Education from ASU West and has completed all the coursework for his Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership from Walden University. He has taught 8th grade Language Arts (1 year) and Social Studies (3 years) at Deer Valley Middle School and taught 8th grade Social Studies at Sierra Verde School (4 years). Mr. Dugan taught Government and U.S. History at O'Connor High School (5 years). He is a native New Yorker and has been in Arizona since 1994.

    Jessica Lindenmeier, jessica.lindenmeier@dvusd.org, has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education History from ASU and is currently earning her Masters in Educational Administration and Leadership from GCU. She is certified in both History and Social Studies. Mrs. Lindenmeier began teaching in 2010 at Mountain Ridge High School and taught both World and U.S. History. She then joined the Eagles at O’Connor High School in 2011 and is currently teaching AP World History and World History. Mrs. Lindenmeier is also the co-sponsor of the Model United Nations club on the O’Connor campus in pursuit of showcasing world history as a relatable subject to modern, real-world events.

    Kathy Pondy kathy.pondy@dvusd.org has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education History from NAU and holds AZ teacher certification is Economics, Government, History and Library Media Specialist. Mrs. Pondy earned a Masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in 2013.

    Prior to coming to Deer Valley District Mrs. Pondy taught in Flagstaff Unified School District for 12 years. Since 2004 Mrs. Pondy has had the pleasure of being a Library Media Specialist at both Gavilan Peak and Diamond Canyon and a Social Studies teacher and department chair at Boulder Creek High School since 2008. Some of Mrs. Pondy's proudest accomplishments in DVUSD include helping her AP Economics students have over a 85% pass rate on the College Board exams, being named a DVEF Teacher of the Year, leading the Social Studies department to being named an Arizona School of Civic Engagement with Distinction and having her students earn a first place finish in the Arizona Stock Market Game. In her personal time Mrs. Pondy dedicates her time to her family, Mr. Pondy (also a BCHS Social Studies teacher), her two children, Taylor age 24 and Chris age 20. In addition to spending time with her family Mrs. Pondy enjoys traveling, running and cooking.
