Update for Quarter 4 School Closure
During quarter 4 students will still be offered access to art based instruction online. Activities will be posted each week for students to participate in. Lessons will be made avaible online through canvas (7th-8th), Google classroom, and on this staff page under k-5 art online. These activities have been designed while considering how families might have a limited access of materials availible at home. I want students to know that these activities can be completed using whatever students have at home. Be creative! Thats one of the best things about art, it can be made on anything with anything. Also if you or you child is proud of what is created please feel free to email me a picture so it can be posted on the Stetson Hills Artsonia page. I look forward to seeing what students create!
This school year I will be using artsonia.com with my classes as an option for families. Artsonia is a free online art portfolio for K-12 students. It is a safe and educational website that shares pictures of student artwork with the permission of a parent or guardian. It allows students to track their progress over the course of the year while developing their pride and self-esteem in arts education. This account is private for all students unless approved by a parent or guardian. Once it is public the only thing shown is art and the studenst screen names. No last names of picures of students will be shared. Even comments will be private unless approved by a parent or guardian. If you are interested, artsonia also offers the option of ordering merchandise with student art printed on it. 20% of the revenue is sent back to the artroom.
