Mrs. Perez's Fabulous First Grade
Good afternoon, Viking families!
I hope you had a wonderful summer and are just as excited as me for the first day of school. To maintain open communication, I will send out a weekly email. Additionally, you will receive a weekly newsletter in your child’s Red Communication folder; this will begin our second week of school.
How Do I Get Home
It is the policy of Village Meadows that once a form of transportation is communicated to the teacher we may not allow for a change without written consent from the parent/guardian. For example, if your child usually takes the bus home but you will be picking them up instead, you must send an email or written note informing me of the change. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, but it will ensure the safety of your child.
If you were unable to join us for meet the teacher night, would you please send me a quick message before Monday morning letting me know how your child will be getting home. (parent pick-up, bus, walking, daycare, etc.) Thank you for your help with this important matter.
In your child’s Red Communication folder, you will see a weekly calendar. At the end of each day, your child will circle where they landed on our classroom clip chart. Please sign the calendar daily. I also use this to communicate with parents. You can also reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you need to share something with me in the middle of the school day please reach out to the office as I don’t always open my email until students have left for the day.
First grade will be allowed on campus at 8:25 for breakfast. The first couple of days they will go directly to my room to eat. There will be adults at the gate to guide them at 8:25. For the remainder of the school year they will enter campus at 8:25 and go to the cafeteria to eat. We line up to go to class at 8:40. Students must be done eating by then so we can start our day on time. If the bus is late they will get extra time.
First grade dismissal is at 3:23. If you are picking them up on foot they will be standing out front with a first grade teacher. Parents can stand near the flag pole. Otherwise you can drive through the roundabout and they will be brought to your car.
This Friday is an early release. See you at 1:50.
*Please have your child wear tennis shoes on PE day
