During his time served with both departments, he has received a Life-Saving Award, a Purple Heart, and Officer of the Month.

Officer Calderon has participated in many community outreach events in his community's schools and churches. He has participated in national outreach programs with the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation (JDRF) to create awareness of the disease and how he lives with it in his own life and career.

He began his career as a School Resource Officer in 2012 and has served several schools in the Deer Valley Unified School District. During this time as an SRO, he has been a direct mentor for many newly sworn officers as a Field Training Officer as well.    He has spent the majority of his SRO career at Mountain Ridge High school, where he will now be a part of their day to day staff.  He is very excited to start this new chapter in his Law Enforcement Career.
