Hello, it’s my privilege to introduce myself - I am known as Nurse Jan to staff and students.
I was born and raised in Michigan. My medical career began in Flint, Michigan at Hurley Medical Center, where I trained and worked, and where I went straight from nursing school into the Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
I took a break from the NICU in 2002 and became a Labor & Delivery nurse. During that time, I also worked as a school nurse for Special Needs children with a wide range of disabilities. Some of these children were the city’s most critical asthmatic students – but I was fortunate to be able to work directly with the Asthma Clinic physicians at Hurley Medical Center - so I could provide these students with optimal care, and they could safely attend school.
I moved to Arizona in 2008 and took a position in the NICU at Scottsdale Healthcare/Shea.
I retired in 2013, but soon discovered that my dedication to nursing and care for others would demand that I continue my career. As a result, I took the position here at West Wing School at the beginning of the 2018 school year.
Please know that your child’s health is my top priority, and that my door is always open, should you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s health.
I look forward to a healthy 24-25 school year.
