• Third Grade Thinkers

Welcome to Third Grade.  The Third Grade Team works closely together and we share the same expectations for our students.   Students will have reading homework which includes 1 book report each month.   Students will also be responsible for memorizing math facts in addition, subtraction, multipication, and division.  Our assignment tab outlines the expectations for each book report and the due dates.    You can also find the testing schedule for our Math facts benchmark tests on te assignment tab.   Students will be assessed frequently on math facts however, the testing dates indicate when students are expected to have memorized the math facts for each mathematical operation.  Math Fact assessments will be weighted heavily, therefore you can expect a students score to raise or fall due to their math fact knowledge.

Mountain Shadows is a Leader in Me School.   Our class/school/ playground expectations are closely tied to the 7 Habits.  Students are expected to be proactive, be in charge of and take responsibility for themselves and their actions, be respectful of others, and treat others respectfully.

Steven Covey's 7 Habits are: Be Proactive, Begin With the End in Mind,  Put First Things First, Think win-Win, Seek First to Understand Then to be Understood, Synergize, Sharpen the Saw.   The Newest Habit, habit number 8 is Find your Voice.  Our students should be able to tell you the habits and explain what it means when they are displaying the habit.
