Hello and Welcome to Earth Science! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Mr. Glover and I will be the instructor for this year. In addition to teaching you here at Desert Mountain, I am also an adjunct professor at Grand Canyon University (GCU) while also working on my own D.Ed. at GCU. I currently hold two master’s degrees, one in Environmental Science from the University of Denver and one in Educational Administration from GCU. Furthermore, I received my undergraduate degree here in the valley from Arizona State University in Earth and Space Science. I am originally from Montana but left the state after joining the United States Marine Corps in 2001. I have traveled the glob as Marine, and later as a private security contractor, before moving to the valley to engage in my education.
You are about to embark on a journey of Earth Science. Earth Science is a course is designed to appeal to both science and non-science oriented students. The course is centered on the study of the Earth: its history, its changes and its place in the universe. The course serves as an introduction to geology, oceanography, astronomy, environmental science and meteorology. I look forward to getting to know all of you through our interactions in this class this year and good luck!
