  • Gifted students in Mr.Donovan's AP US History class recently learned about the era of Reconstruction and the challenges that citizens faced during this historical period. This include newly implemented barriers to voting such as literacy tests. 

    To understand this on a deeper level, students underwent a historical simulation. Students were put into teams of 2-4 to take a sample literacy test that was previously used to determine a person's eligibility for voting. It was a great opportunity for students to collaborate and understand American history from a unique perspective!
