About Mrs. Constable
This is my 8th year teaching in Arizona. As a Tempe native, I am incredibly passionate about teaching the kids in my state. They are our future leaders who will shape our community.
With teaching, I've taught early education, middle school, and high school for the City of Tempe, Arizona Conservatory for Arts & Academics, and ASU Preparatory Academy. I have taught everything from ELA to journalism/yearbook to drama. I'm kind of a jack (queen more likely) of trades.
I graduated in 2007 with my B.A. in creative writing and minor in classics from the University of Arizona. In 2010, I graduated with my M.Ed in secondary English education from Arizona State University. I am certified in teaching secondary English education with a SEI endorsement along with being certified in K-12 theater arts and CTE: Industrial and Emerging Technologies.
I am a writing geek! I have a column in my community newspaper in Moon Valley called "Rookie Mom" where I talk about my adventures as a clueless first-time mama. I'm also a freelance writer for North Valley Magazine, Phoenix Magazine, and North Valley Moms Blog.
I'm a big family person (as the fourth of five children!). My 2-year-old daughter, Brynn, is incredibly wild and loves this very obnoxious YouTube star named Blippi. I've been married for 5 years to my non-American, WoW-loving, and Welsh husband Adam. As a family, you can see us at the Phoenix Zoo early in the mornings or being rather silly at home dancing to Pancake Manor.
I can't wait to get to know you and put your interests and passions about the world into real-life analysis of the content we'll learn! Keep an open mind and be ready to explore bigger ideas and think about how they apply to you through writing, reading, listening, and speaking.
