Paul A. Carver, Jr.

Paul Carver brings deep local roots, a background in public service, and a strong personal commitment to the Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD) community. A fourth-generation Arizonan whose family has lived in the Valley since 1941, Paul’s connection to local education spans generations. Three of the last four generations of his family have taught in Valley schools, and Paul has been both a student and a parent within DVUSD.
Paul served his country in the United States Marine Corps, instilling in him core values of discipline, accountability, and leadership. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, bringing strong fiscal management and practical leadership skills to his role on the board.
Since taking office on the DVUSD Governing Board on January 1, 2023, where he has also served as Board President, Paul’s focus has remained centered on:
● Academic Excellence: Prioritizing high educational standards and student success across all schools.
● Fiscal Responsibility: Ensuring transparent, accountable stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
● Community Engagement: Championing parental rights and keeping lines of communication open between schools and families.
Beyond his public service, Paul is a proud husband, father of eight, and grandfather of ten. He remains dedicated to strengthening DVUSD as a premier district where students, educators, and families can thrive together.
