Exceeding State Standards At No Extra Cost To You
Phoenix, Arizona, is becoming an expensive place to live. With various reports placing the cost of living anywhere from 1.7% to 8% higher than the national average, families have to choose wisely on how money is spent. A child who attends a DVUSD school receives an education that exceeds state standards and assessment, offers numerous extracurricular activities at various age levels, and prepares students for a changing and more diverse world.
So why would you pay for something that doesn't offer everything that DVUSD does, and doesn't have the same oversight as a public school district?
DVUSD Has 26 Schools With An "A" Rating
This isn't just the district assigning letter grades. DVUSD has 26 "A" schools, and 33 schools rated as "A" or "B" as determined by the Arizona State Board of Education. The board's own website acknowledges that, "A-F Letter Grades are the State Accountability model used to annually measure school performance.", and DVUSD's district-best 26 "A" schools for 2022-23 performance reflects the positive results inside the classroom.
There are private and charter schools that also receive "A" and "B" grades, but there are also quite a few that don't measure as well, thus negating the sales pitch that private and charter schools are a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist. And if you don't believe us, read the thoughts of parents and students who wish they spent their hard-earned money a little better.
DVUSD Will Not Demand an Annual "Suggested Donation" From Your Family
It seems kind of silly for a school to "ask" a family to make a minimum "suggested donation" of $200 a month or $2,000 a year for each child attending that school. Yet that's exactly what many private and charter schools do, and there's no surefire way to track where those donations ultimately end up.
If your child attends a DVUSD school, there will be occasional small charges for lunch or to attend a sporting event or field trip. However, DVUSD will never make cash payments of thousands of dollars per year a condition of your child's enrollment.
DVUSD is here to benefit the student and the community, not the corporate wealth of a private school founder or franchisee.
