Welcome to the Diamond Canyon Health Center
The 2024-2025 school year will be my 5th year as the Diamond Canyon school nurse. Prior to this, I spent 20 years in the ICU and trauma units. I have 1 child here at DC and 2 in high school. My goal is to do all I can to keep students and staff healthy here on campus throughout the school year!!
The students here at DC have become like my extended family. I enjoy caring for them while on campus, and I LOVE seeing them out in the community.
A couple of key points:
Any prescribed medications to be administered at school must be accompanied by the DVUSD Doctor's Order Form, which is located under the "Forms" tab on this webpage. All prescription medications must have this form signed by a physician. Prescribed medications kept in the health office must have a pharmacy label clearly showing the student's name, dosage, instructions and expiration date.
All medication (prescription or over the counter) must be brought in to the front office by a parent. Students are not allowed to carry any prescription or over-the-counter medication with them on campus unless special accommodations are made by the parent and the nurse. Any medication found in the student's possession (without these special accommodations) will be collected and held in the nurse's office.
Please provide a spacer if an inhaler is to be used at school.
All medications must be picked up by a parent at the end of each school year.
I look forward to a wonderful school year!!
