  • Final Voting on Name, Mascot & Colors - The Votes are in!

    Thank you to the panel of students and parents who gave their time to select three unique name choices, as well as three thoughtful mascot and color combinations for our new school from hundreds of suggestions.

    Voting, which was open to future students, parents, staff, and community members, took place from 2/12 - 2/19. Here are the results of the vote:

    The final count is:

    Dixie Mountain  206 votes
    Prado Valley     135 votes
    Union Park     537 votes

    Ravens with Black/Green     352 votes
    Toros with Gold/Black     388 votes
    Zorros with Burnt Orange/Black    139 votes

    The name Union Park, Mascot Toros (Spanish for Bull) and Colors of Gold and Black was approved at the Governing Board Meeting on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.

    Help us name the school, pick the mascot and choose the school colors (like athletic colors not building colors). The form will only be available until February 12th at 11:59 PM. 

    A few things to think about when making suggestions.  

    Name - Please avoid names similar to names of our current DVUSD schools (list of schools, colors and mascots here) and avoid names of living persons.

    Mascot - Please avoid mascots from our current DVUSD schools (list of schools, colors and mascots here)

    Colors - Please select one or two colors to represent the school (on athletic uniforms for example). Please avoid combinations like the current DVUSD schools (list of schools, colors and mascots here)
