2022-2023 BATTLE OF THE BOOKS10th Annual DVEF BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Fifth and sixth grade students compete in teams of two or three students (with a minimum of 4 teams per school and a maximum of 30 teams per school) to test their knowledge in three exciting school competitions during the 2021-2022 school year. Points are cumulative for the year, and the winning team from each school will move on to the district-wide competition.
The first step is to sign the Student-Parent Agreement.
When all the team members have their agreement forms turned in, they may fill out the Team Form. Students also have the opportunity to purchase t-shirts for their teams. Parents also may choose to purchase a package of the 12 books. All titles will be provided by the school libraries, but copies may be limited.
Teams are assigned four different books to read for each competition. The top scoring team from each school (cummulative from all three school Battles) will compete in the district finale in the spring. The top team at the district level will go on to compete in a battle with Chandler, Gilbert, Higley, Mesa, and Queen Creek/Combs Districts in May.
Don't miss the fun and excitement!
