2022-23 Edition of Special Report to the Community!
This publication serves to provide our valued DVUSD community with a view of how our funding is allocated and spent across the District. We believe in fiscal transparency and responsible spending of the funds provided by our taxpayers. This is more important than ever as DVUSD is at the forefront of explosive business growth and a housing boom in the North Valley. DVUSD Unveils New Five Year Strategic Plan for 2023-28
This new plan is built upon our impressive legacy of excellence and is a purposeful collection of stakeholder input from students, parents, Governing Board members, community members, interfaith partners, support staff, teachers, principals, business partners, higher education leaders, and central office staff through surveys, interviews, focus-groups, and feedback loops. The purpose of gathering this internal and external data was to gain an understanding of where we have been and where we need to go into the future.

The Deer Valley Unified School District Kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 school is NOW OPEN! Register today to ensure your child has a seat in an #extraordinary DVUSD Kindergarten classroom. Students need to be 5 years old by August 31, 2023 to enter Kindergarten.

Who Wants Free Books? Sign Up for Big Kid Book Club Today!
The Deer Valley Unified School District invites your child to join the Big Kid Book Club! Let us help your child cultivate a love for reading – and get ready for kindergarten. We will periodically send your child a free book in the mail along with helpful advice for parents of 3-5 year olds. You do not need to live within the DVUSD Boundaries to participate.

DVUSD Free & Reduced Meal Applications Now Open for 2022-23- Complete the Application Online Today!
that free and reduced meal applications are now available online. Please note two important changes from the past two years, the USDA: 1) Will no longer provide funding for free meals for all students and, 2) Is offering a one-time Summer P-EBT payment only to students who were both certified to receive free or reduced meals and were enrolled in a DVUSD school offering a NSLP program during May 2022. Please consider submitting a meal application now before the “back to school rush” begins and to best assure seamless meal support.

Parents & Guardians can sign up to have an observer account in Canvas and have their very own app: Canvas Parent. Observers can link their Canvas account to their student's account so they can see assignment dues dates, announcements, and other course content. Observers can view the course content but cannot participate in the course.

SDOHS Holds Sandra Day O'Connor Civic's Day Celebration, Other DVUSD Schools Celebrate Civic's Month
Sandra Day O’Connor students, staff, DVUSD Board President Ann O’Brien and district administration gathered to celebrate the life and impact of the school’s namesake, Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, during a Civic’s Day Celebration held on campus Sept. 24. Arizona’s Sandra Day O’Connor Civics Celebration Day is a day in which a majority of classroom instruction is devoted entirely to civics. This year was particularly special as it commemorates the fortieth anniversary of O’Connor being sworn in as the first female Supreme Court Justice.
