Web Development & Coding

Vista Peak is now offering Web Development and Coding Classes to our High School Program.

Vista Peak School, with the support of the Deer Valley Unified School District, is giving students the opportunity to pursue certification in Web Development and Coding.  This program will include classes that are geared towards meeting the needs of today’s job opportunities in technology.  Students will learn how to code HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and database programs including MySQL to build fully integrated Web systems.  Four year students will have additional opportunities to develop self-contained application related to their Web counterpart.  Job readiness is achieved through instruction, internships and successful certification in Microsoft’s Technology Associate (MTA).

The program is a self-contained high school with students completing classes over a four-year period.  Students will graduate with a high school diploma and the valuable MTA certification to be ready for college or a career.  Students will receive core classes, which include ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  In addition to technology and core classes, student will develop skills that include teamwork and leadership.  They will have the opportunity to compete in state and national technology leadership events to test, hone and prove their development.

In additional to industry certification, Vista Peak has a Maker Lab.  In this lab students develop skills in network technology using the labs virtual network built by students.  The network gives the learners the ability to design and test without the hazards of a school or outside connections.  The lab also has a full service 3D printer, HP large print poster printer, green screen and professionally implemented workstations.  Finally, this lab fosters troubleshooting and teamwork skills by providing the above tools and an industry modeled working environment.  All of which is tuition free to Deer Valley Unified School students who are accepted into the program.
