BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Fifth and sixth grade students compete in teams of two or three students (with a minimum of 4 teams per school and a maximum of 30 teams per school) to test their knowledge in three exciting school competitions during the 2020-2021 school year. Points are cummulative for the year, and the winning team from each school will move on to the district-wide competition.
The first step is to sign the Student-Parent Agreement
When all the team members have their agreement forms turned in, they may fill out the Team Form. Students also have the opportunity to purchase t-shirts for their teams. Parents also may choose to purchase a package of the 6 books. All titles will be provided by the school libraries, but copies may be limited.
Teams are assigned three different books to read for each competition. The top scoring team from each school (cummulative from two school Battles) will compete in the District Finale in the spring.
Please Note: All Battle dates are tentative and subject to change due to unforseen conflicts. Participants, staff and parents will be notified via school announcements and e-mail of any changes.
